Sleep is the foundational pillar of health. If you sleep well, I know your daily behaviours and those around your nutrition will also go well. So my 12 tips for better sleep are

  1. Stick to a sleep schedule
  2. Exercise often, but not later than 2.5 hours before bed
  3. Avoid caffeine and nicotine
  4. Avoid alcohol before bed
  5. Avoid large meals late at night
  6. Avoid sleep-disrupting medication. Benefits don't outweigh risks
  7. Don't nap after 3 pm
  8. Have time to relax before bed
  9. Take a hot bath or shower before bed
  10. Dark, cool, gadget-free, quiet bedroom
  11. Proper (sun)light exposure upon waking
  12. Don't lie in bed awake
