Meal prepping..
Are you doing any food prep this week?
I think many of us realise that one of the secrets to success with eating well is having food available when we need it. Planning and preparing meals (including breakfast and lunch) can really help.
I would never expect a client who doesn't plan or prepare anything to then plan every single meal. It's not realistic. But it can be useful to start with baby steps like planning a couple of evening meals for your busiest days. Or making something nourishing the night before for breakfast. I am not always organised myself! One thing I notice about modern life is that we expect everything to be fast and instant. We know fast food isn't healthy but we still want the food we make at home to be fast.
We need to be realistic about expectations. We get out what we put in. We need to take some time for planning and preparing good food. It doesn't have to be much time for the planning.
Perhaps sit with a note pad and jot down roughly what you might eat a few nights in the week and make a shopping list. I like to cook extra of things so l've got lunch next day.
A typical example is roasting or baking sweet potato or in this case butternut squash. I was preparing the squash on Sunday for a tagine for lunch. I only needed part of it so I baked the rest to use for lunches this week.
What one small step could you make this week to make your future nourished self proud?
